Boy dead from drowning

About half-past ten on Saturday morning three boys named Daniel Thomas Jones, aged eight years, son of John Jones, of Treherbert, and Thomas Whymer and Richard Griffiths, were playing near the River Rhondda at Penyrenglyn, on a plank which had been placed across the river for the convenience of colliers. Jones lost his footing and fell into the river, and was carried away by the flood. When he was found he was quite dead.
