Beechgrove Garden Axed by BBC?

In a bizarre twist, BBC Scotland have axed Beechgrove Garden until the end of Summer.

Is this the beginning of the end for Beechgrove Garden? Taking a gardening programme off-air at the busiest time of the year when gardeners would watch it seems a strange move. Did Jim McColl see this coming and jump ship early? This story looks to be only the beginning.

The show has lost its way for me this year. Too many presenters and too many unnecessary drone shots. Feels like it’s trying to attract a younger audience while losing focus on the heart of the show.

In the meantime the Beechgrove Team will be appearing on the BBC Scotland radio show, Grow It, on Sundays at 7:30am. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0004kzs
