Gardening in March

Winter/Spring
Spring is deemed to start at the Vernal Equinox (near 20 March). There are only two points of the year when the Earth’s axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a “nearly” equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes. These events are referred to as Equinoxes.

March is a very busy month especially for the vegetable grower. A wealth of seeds are sown so keeping on top of the seasonal tasks is more important than ever at the start of Spring.

How to Plant Snowdrops

February and March are times to plant Snowdrops “in-the-green” for successful flowers. The only scented snowdrop is the variety Sam Arnott.
