Clear Greenhouse and Shed Gutters

As leaves fall from the trees they need to go somewhere, ideally on the compost bin. Now it’s time to clear out any gutters you have on the greenhouse, shed or in the water butts.

Remove all leaves so that water can freely get to the water butts/tanks. This will not only help the flow of water but will stop any slugs and snails hiding amongst them.

To stop this from happening in the future use mesh guards which fit within the gutters and prevents leaves from falling into the downpipes and into the water butt. But these will still need to be cleared ever month.

Another solution to use install a long brush which sits in the grove of the cutter and stops leaves.
