As the leaves start falling from the trees, Autumn is the ideal time to make your own leaf mould compost. Simply collect as many leaves as possible and place them either directly into your compost bin with all your kitchen waste or built your own leaf mould compost bin.
Use chicken wire and 4 posts to make a square and start filling your composter with leaves, make sure to water the leaves during dry spells of weather.
If you haven’t got the space, another method is to place the leaves in a black bag and leave in a corner of the garden. Return in a year and you’ll have wonderful seed compost.
