Walking The London Loop: Section 1 – Erith to Bexley

The first section of The London Loop which travels around the capital through wasteland, industrial estate, streets and countryside. Another view of London often unknown.

I discovered The London Loop via the author and youtuber John Rogers. Through his excellent weekly walks he treks over city centre pavements of London streets and neighbouring countryside, especially the Lee Valley. He has opened my eyes to a London that isn’t the familiar sightseeing landmarks but scratches beneath introduced us to communities and a wealth of untold history. He breaths life into those areas you often whizz pass on the overground trains or catch a glimpse of as the underground trains poke its heads into the daylight for a few moments before quickly returning to their mole holes.

After buying refreshments from the local shop I was ready to tackle the next section of The London Loop and this time I was starting early. It's 9am as I approach the red phone box by Bexley Train Station.
